Pro Seniors' Health Care Consumer Rights Project

Seniors currently are experiencing a health care crisis.  Substantial numbers of seniors are forced to choose between basic necessities and health care.  In fact, the results of a new study that included Ohio seniors conducted by Tufts-New England Medical Center, The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and the Commonwealth Fund indicate that nearly one quarter of seniors skip medications or do not fill prescriptions due to costs.

Studies also indicate that seniors have difficulty obtaining the health care they need because of the complexities of the health care system, including Medicare.  This complexity frequently prevents seniors from obtaining the health care required for them to remain living independently.

Pro Seniors' Health Care Consumer Rights Project is an initiative designed to address this health care crisis by assisting seniors with access to Medicare and related health care.  The Health Care Consumer Rights Project benefits Greater Cincinnati area seniors by providing much-needed education and information regarding health care rights.  In addition, the Health Care Consumer Rights Project offers individual legal assistance with health care questions and legal representation to prevent and appeal improper terminations or reductions in medical care.  Another focus of the Health Care Consumer Rights Project is helping seniors identify additional sources of available financial assistance with health care costs.
