SUMMARY:AmeriCorps Ombudsman
DESCRIPTION:Do you want to become part of a team of passionate long-term care ombudsmen & serve older adults in your community? Join us for a year of service!   \nThe AmeriCorps Ombudsman Specialist program will train you to connect with long-term care consumers throughout Southwest Ohio\, ensuring long-term care residents have access to ombudsman services to help answer questions and resolve complaints about the care they receive. AmeriCorps members will be based out of the Pro Seniors’ office in Cincinnati and will be part of a statewide team that meets regularly in Columbus. They will serve full time from October 2019-September 2020\, completing at least 1\,720 hours of service.  AmeriCorps members will also assist the site supervisors in volunteer management activities\, working to engage the current volunteer corps to increased service and recruiting new volunteers.
