What makes a senior a Senior Who Rocks?
Our honorees are at least 70 years old, and they are active, working or volunteering and adding a value and vibrancy to our community. They are, in other words, inspirational.
While most people who seek Pro Seniors’ help are experiencing challenges associated with limited income, a health crisis, or even abuse, neglect or exploitation, we recognize that aging is also a time for triumph and celebration. Seniors Who Rock is an opportunity to share positive images of aging by highlighting the insights that come with experience and a giving heart.

Our Inspiring 2021 Honorees
Deborah Mariner Allsop
Champion for children and education, Deborah Allsop has been recognized as a 2019 Woman of the Year, a YWCA Career Woman of Achievement, and recently by the Women’s City Club at their annual Feist Tea. Deborah’s feisty impact spans her 29 years with Greater Cincinnati United Way (Success by Six, Every Child Succeeds), her leadership in her faith community, and her current role as CEO and Executive Director of Families Forward where she continues to shape the lives of children and families through programs like “The Gifts We Share” that match children with seniors as pen-pals who help them with reading, writing and more.
Bea V. Larsen
As one of just two women in her law school class, and the first female president of the Cincinnati Bar Association, Bea Larsen is familiar with the role of trailblazer. She has received numerous awards throughout her career, including the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Themis Award for extraordinary service to the legal profession and the community. When she retired as senior mediator for the Center for Resolution of Disputes, Bea continued her pursuit of conflict resolution as co-founder of Beyond Civility. In her memoir, The Third Person in the Room (2019), Bea reflects on her role as a divorce mediator and more.
Bob Ramsay
Since retiring from his successful career in corporate accounting, Bob Ramsay has expanded his service as a volunteer for organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul for Pleasant Ridge, Kennedy Heights, and Roselawn. Bob’s service includes everything from in-person visits (before the pandemic) to answering call-center phones, to connecting people to essential community resources. He also volunteers as a ProKids Court Appointed Special Advocate, speaking up for foster children in pursuit of a safe, nurturing, permanent home.
